On the hottest day of the summer, a simple twist of fate is about to change the life of Maggie Moreno (Guaty) forever. A pretty but plain tomboy struggling to take care of her family in Los Angeles’ Latino neighborhood, Maggie wakes to find her sister in jail, her mom without a job and herself late for work ... again.

Meanwhile, music manager Cole Thompson (Flanery) is flabbergasted to find out that his boss, Barry (Kier), is not giving him a promotion that he thought was in the bag. Barry decides to make Cole a bet. Barry will pick a girl off the street and if Cole can transform her into a pop sensation in time for a major showcase event (which is 30 days away), then he will give Cole the promotion.

Cole agrees, but gets nervous when Barry picks out the klutzy, stumbling Maggie. Cole approaches Maggie, who laughs off his proposal until Cole offers her $40,000 for 30 days if she agrees to help him out. Knowing what that money could do for her family, Maggie hesitantly agrees.

The modern day Latino Pygmalion is set in motion with Maggie’s whirlwind transformation into Latina pop diva, Solita underway. But as Maggie starts to realize her own cultural identity and Cole’s cool exterior begins to thaw as love blossoms, it’s anyone’s guess if fame will find Maggie Moreno in 30 days.
